Mini Crane Scales
Overhead crane scales have been proven to boost efficiency in loading and unloading operations as well as enhance safety during crane operations. However, many crane scales are bulky and cumbersome. Thankfully, Eilon Engineering offers mini crane scales, which have a small form factor, yet can accurately measure loads of up to 30 tons.
Other models are available up to 300t.
A mini crane scale will drastically improve the consistency and safety of loading and unloading crane operations. The rugged mini crane scales developed by Eilon Engineering, are designed for the rigorous use found in the industrial environment. They are accurate products that will increase the safety and repeatability of any process requiring crane work. For more information, reach out to your Eilon Engineering representative today.
Mini Crane Scales by Eilon Engineering
Eilon Engineering is a pioneer among crane scale manufacturers, by developing scales that are much smaller than those offered by competitors. They have a variety of models that will suit the needs of most overhead crane applications, even those requiring limited headroom loss. Each crane weigher is capable of 0.1% full load error, even with their compact size. Every electronic crane scale is designed to display data on an easy-to-read digital display
Very little. Eilon Engineering’s hanging crane scales are small and lightweight, meaning the crane’s handling will not be affected. With minimal headroom loss, Eilon Engineering crane scales are excellent for indoor applications, where headroom can be an issue.
Because the crane scale is placed inline between the crane and load, there will be some loss of movement in the crane- the crane will not be able to lift as high with the scale in place. Therefore, it is best to go with a crane scale that occupies as little space as possible to ensure the largest range of lifting motion.
The hook connection can be connected faster, but the shackle is generally smaller, lighter and more portable. Both have very little headroom loss.
Wired overhead crane scales are cost-effective, and wireless crane scales have the added flexibility of being free from cabling. Talk to the knowledgeable folks at Eilon Engineering to help you decide which scale is right for you. The wired and wireless models have similar headroom loss, so you can choose based on other parameters.

The Eilon Engineering Advantage
Eilon Engineering has been developing heavy-duty crane scales for over 45 years. Their crane scales have been used in foundries, refineries, oil rigs, ports, wind turbine installations, aerospace facilities, manufacturing plants and many other rugged, industrial environments.
Small Form Factor
The physical size of the crane scale is incredibly important. If a crane scale is large, there is a reduced lifting height for the crane. This limitation is called headroom loss, and it means that objects cannot be lifted as high as they could before the crane scale was installed. In some cases, a large crane scale may be large enough to prevent the crane from lifting loads into a railcar, dump truck, or onto a raised platform or hopper.
Ruggedness and Reliability
The small size of a mini crane scale cannot sacrifice its ruggedness. Industrial crane scales cannot limit the crane’s capacity by being weaker than the rest of the crane system. Furthermore, it must be able to withstand fatigue failures, dust, vibration, occasional water spray and shock. Mini crane scales must be designed with the right blend of safety and small size.
Connectivity
All Eilon Engineering crane scales are capable of displaying data via wired connections or wireless connections, depending on the model. Furthermore, bluetooth connectivity can be added to both wired and wireless versions or our crane scales.
Industry-Leading Accuracy
Eilon crane scales are accurate to 0.1% of their full range, which is especially beneficial to large operations that require accumulating totals from multiple crane loads. Just because our scales are compact does not mean they cannot produce industry-leading accuracy.
Factors of Safety
Eilon Engineering mini crane scales are rigorously tested to ensure they will provide years of safe operation. They are well designed, with each load cell built with a 5:1 factor of safety, and each hook built with a 4:1 factor of safety. The crane scale system is tested to a 200% load.
All mini crane scales are built in compliance with IEC 61508 and ASME BTH-1 standards for fatigue life, and come backed with a five year warranty. Eilon Engineering has many repeat customers, such as Disney, NASA, Boeing and others who count on them for high performance, reliable products.
