Quality Crane Scales

In the world of lifting during weighing, the crane scale is the go-to tool across countless industries and applications, including construction, warehouse inventory management, manufacturing, and many others. But no matter how you use it, there are always risks involved when lifting heavy objects with a crane scale—both to other equipment and anyone in the vicinity of the lift.

This is why high-quality crane scales are the best choice for any and all industrial weighing applications. Remember: safety first!

What are quality crane scales?

You might think that the difference between low- and high-quality crane scales is about digital vs. analog measuring and readout. But this is only a small part of what sets premium crane scales apart from those of lower quality. The first and most vital element of a quality crane scale is the material and design of the load-bearing element, the load cell.

Most heavy-duty weighing scales are made of either steel or aluminum. But simply being made of steel doesn’t necessarily mean we’re talking about premium crane scales. After all, not all steel is of the same caliber or quality.

That’s why all Eilon Engineering crane scale bodies are made of the highest quality, aerospace-grade alloy steel. It’s this type of steel that gives operators the peace of mind of knowing they’re working with a safe and reliable crane scale—the kind of scale that you know you can count on.

Because of our reputation for manufacturing reliable crane scales, Eilon Engineering systems have been used by countless world-class companies and institutions, including NASA, Siemens, Boeing, the United States Air Force, Caterpillar, SpaceX, Lockheed Martin, and many others.

These companies know that in order to protect their expensive equipment, they need to use only the highest quality industrial-grade crane scales. With so much at stake on their high-profile projects, there’s no room to compromise on quality.

Quality crane scales: design

Manufacturing premium crane scales is about more than just using high-quality materials. It’s also about the design of the scale itself, including the load cell body and the receiver.

At Eilon Engineering, we’ve always put a heavy focus on research and development. This has been the company philosophy from day one and can be seen in the innovative design of our load cell bodies.

Eilon crane scales feature a load cell with 90-degree offset shackle holes. At first glance, this design might strike some people as strange. But those with a good mind for engineering will understand that this design has a big advantage.

By having offset shackle holes, Eilon load cells are much less influenced by external moments that often occur during lifting and rigging activities. Or in other words, this design reduces the bending of the load cell. This increases both safety and accuracy when lifting because the lifted load will be more stable and swing less while in the air. That’s why Eilon systems are among the safest and most accurate crane scales available.

High-precision crane scales

Now that you understand how the material and design of Eilon Engineering load cell bodies make for safer and more accurate crane scales, let’s look at the details.

Eilon Engineering’s high-precision crane scales have a standard accuracy of 0.1% of the system’s rated capacity. For example, a 10-ton crane scale will have an accuracy of +/- 10 kg or about 22 pounds. This 10-ton unit will display readings at intervals of 2 kg or 5 pounds (system resolution).

And, an even higher accuracy of 0.05% is available as an optional add-on, including improved resolution.

Compare these figures to other scales and you’ll quickly see that our highly accurate crane scales are truly top-of-the-line.

Durable crane scales

Eilon Engineering crane scales are built tough—they’re designed to withstand harsh industrial environments while maintaining their reliability.

And, while our entire line can be considered to be durable crane scales, there is one model that takes durability to the next level: the Ron 3050 with an additional protective cage.

This model, along with the smaller Ron 3025, has a durable and shock-absorbing design and optional protective cage, making it especially suitable for harsh conditions. And, like all Eilon systems, their electronics are installed with dampening mounts for increased durability,

In short, no matter what model you choose, with Eilon Engineering you’re sure to get a durable crane scale.

Certified crane scales

At Eilon Engineering, we are committed to delivering the highest quality load monitoring and overload prevention systems. We design all our systems to meet the highest safety standards, ensuring reliability and effectiveness in various applications.

We understand that our load monitoring systems play a crucial role in increasing the safety of rigging, moving, and lifting operations while preventing overloads. An overload can endanger millions of dollars of equipment and, more importantly, human lives. This is why we operate according to a strict quality management system, with annual audits conducted by Lloyd’s Register LRQA to ensure our processes meet the highest standards.

Our dedication to quality is further demonstrated by our ISO 9001 certification. All our research and development, manufacturing, and calibration laboratories are certified according to the ISO 9001 total quality management standard and are regularly audited by Lloyd’s Register LRQA. This certification reflects our commitment to maintaining excellence in all aspects of our operations.

At Eilon, we only manufacture certified crane scales and always stand behind our products.
