Wireless Load Cell Receiver
A load cell is a device that converts a force, such as tension, compression, pressure, or torque, into a measurable electrical signal. This signal can then be used to display the weight or force on a wireless load cell receiver or other type of indicator.
If you’re in the market for a new load cell, you’re likely focusing on the load cell body. But the load cell receiver can be just as important a factor in making your decision and finding the perfect load cell for your needs.
Proven wireless load cell technology
At Eilon Engineering, we’ve been developing and manufacturing advanced industrial weighing systems for the past five decades. Further, over the last 30 years, we’ve pioneered and continued to expand upon the wireless communication technology that’s incorporated into our load cells and other weight measurement solutions.
Our range of wireless load cell receivers represents the cutting edge of load cell technology: from portable handheld indicators to rack mount receivers capable of receiving data from up to 200 load cells simultaneously. Our systems use either R.F. (radio frequency) technology, or Bluetooth to transmit data from the load cell body to the wireless load cell receiver, offering flexibility to suit a wide variety of scenarios and weighing needs.
Multi- vs. single-point systems
When looking for a new load cell, one of the first and biggest questions you should ask is whether you need a single- or multi-point weighing system. That is to say, do you need to measure the weight of the lifted load at a single point with a single load cell, or at multiple points using an array of load cells?
The answer to this question will influence the type of receiver you need.
Single-point wireless load cell receivers
At Eilon Engineering, we offer several models of wireless load cells, crane scales, and dynamometers. Our Ron 2501 model comes standard with a handheld portable wireless receiver.
This receiver includes a 6-digit 0.5" (12 mm) LCD display and front panel with a nine-button keypad. The accessible keypad makes it easy for operators to carry out various functions, such as MAX, TARE, ZERO, Data logging, and more.
The receiver runs on two AA batteries which will give up to 2000 hours of continuous operation. With occasional use, the batteries may last up to several years. Optional rechargeable batteries are also available.
But this isn’t the only single-point wireless receiver we offer. Depending on your application, you may want a large screen.
For these instances, we offer robust aluminum indicators with either a 1” (25 mm) or 2” (50 mm) liquid crystal display. Further, our load cell technology allows for multiple displays to be used with a single system, allowing for multiple operators to simultaneously receive accurate weight data at multiple locations.
Multi-point wireless load cell receivers
While many industrial weighing applications will only call for a single lifting point, there are plenty of instances where multiple weighing points are a necessity. For these scenarios, we offer our multi-point systems: the Ron StageMaster and CraneMaster, used for entertainment and industrial applications.
The Ron StageMaster is a multi-point load monitoring system designed for use in stage rigging applications. It can simultaneously monitor the weight of multiple lifting points, ensuring safe weight distribution during events. It's specifically designed for the demands of stage setups, where heavy sets, lights, and sound equipment are suspended.
The Ron StageMaster is available with several types of wireless load cell receivers.
The first is our Portable Radio Receiver, which allows for the transmission of measurement data of up to 75 load cells to any smartphone or tablet. The loads can be displayed as a real-time load map, table, or bar graph. This is our only receiver that uses Bluetooth technology, making it a great option for those who want to easily view load measurements on their mobile devices.
It’s also handheld and highly portable which makes it a great option for stage riggers who need access to the data while having full freedom of movement around the job site.
For setups that call for up to 100 load cells, you’ll need to use the Standard Radio Receiver. This is a full-featured desktop receiver for medium-sized installations. It displays each load cell’s weight measurement on a real-time load map.
Next, for even larger installations, we offer a Premium Radio Receiver for use with laptops. This allows for up to 200 load cells to be displayed on a single load map—the ultimate in remote monitoring systems.
Both of these receivers include a carrying case, a laptop, and our proprietary RSM software.
Finally, we offer a Rack Mountable Radio Receiver for use with laptops. It allows for the display of measurement data of up to 200 load cells on a real-time load map. This is the ideal option for the largest installations, tours, and venues. It can even be mounted in an optional flight case for safe transport.
